The Indonesian Art Auction Viewing Days are starting on Sunday 20 November! Alongside the exhibition of all artworks present in the auction, we would also like to invite you for a book signing with writer Jan Brokken at Venduehuis The Hague.
On 5 and 6 October, more than 650 lots from the estate of Antoon Gaemers were up for auction at Venduehuis The Hague. Gaemers, the renowned horologist from The Hague, passed away in 2020. In an auction titled ‘The Antoon Gaemers Collection – Four Generations of Chronometry’, his collection, including clocks, wrist- and pocket watches, tools for clock- and watchmakers, watch keys and books, was on offer. The auction was very successful.

On Friday evening 21 October 2022, Venduehuis The Hague organises an online charity auction for the ‘artist-in-residence’ (AiR) programme of the Van GoghHuis in Zundert. 48 works will be on offer, created by artists who have worked in the studios of the Van GoghHuis or have had an exhibition there. All profits will go to the artist-in-residence project.
Our current auction ‘The Antoon Gaemers Collection: Four Generations of Chronometry’ is a unique and exceptional auction, presenting clocks, watches, tools, books, and accessories from the estate of Antoon Gaemers.
On the 1st of August, our former colleague Rob Guldenaar passed away at the age of 84.
From 1 to 11 September, Venduehuis The Hague will be present at the Tong Tong Fair in The Hague. This exceptional fair celebrates Indonesian culture and history with an array of beautiful performances, interesting lectures, many different stalls with interesting finds and more.

In the Old Masters section of the catalogue you will find landscapes by Frederik de Moucheron, Joos de Momper II, still lifes by Bartolomeus Assteyn and Melchior d’Hondecoeter. An exceptional work is that of Cleopatra with snake, attributed to the Italian artist Elisabetta Sirani.
