Roadworks Nobelstraat 4 May - 24 June 2021

Roadworks Nobelstraat 4 May - 24 June 2021

Between 4 May - 24 June road works are planned in the Nobelstraat. The contractors have assured us the courtyard of the Venduehuis will remain accessible to motorists for the collection or delivery of goods -on appointment- and during the auction on 26 May. Nevertheless, you should be aware of traffic disruption. On 4, 5, and 6 May, all paving will be removed, replaced by driving plates. During certain phases of the work, the road may be completely closed for a while; traffic controllers will direct the traffic. You may read the message from the contractor about the work HERE.

"On Tuesday, 4 May, work will begin on removing all of the paving in Nobelstraat. This will take two days. Riding plates will be laid in the roadway and walking baffles will be installed along the façades. Traffic controllers will be deployed. Meanwhile, the terrain of the Venduehuis remains accessible for car traffic. On Tuesday and Wednesday, however, large vehicles will be driving through the street and there will be a short period (expected on Wednesday) during which access will be temporarily blocked due to the removal of the paving stones and the installation of driving plates.

* On Monday 10 May, the sewer connection in front of the parking garage (only for inhabitants of the apartment building) will be replaced. This is expected to take one and a half weeks. Traffic controllers will be present to guide motorists to and from the parking garage. The terrain of the Venduehuis will remain accessible for car traffic in the meantime.

* From Monday, 24 May, the remaining part of Nobelstraat towards Prinsestraat will be tackled in a period of 3 to 4 weeks. A sewer connection right in front of the entrance to the Auction House will need to be replaced. We know that an auction is planned for Wednesday 26 May. On that day (as well as the weekends, incidentally) we will deliver the street as whole and accessible as possible. The grounds of the Venduehuis will also be accessible to cars on 26 May."
