Identity check within the framework of the Wwft
Since mid-2021, Dutch auction houses are legally obliged under the Wwft Act to check your personal details when accepting art/antiques. Wwft stands for: Wet ter voorkoming van witwassen en financieren van terrorisme (Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act).
Therefore, please bring valid identification, such as your driving licence, identity card or passport, when delivering goods.
1) We register the type of identification, identification number, place of issue, issue date and expiry date when you hand in your works of art. These details are printed on the receipt. After signing the receipt, you will receive a copy.
2) The front and back of your proof of identity are scanned with the DataChecker app. A few minutes later, the system has checked your details. This process is set up safely in accordance with laws and regulations. DataChecker complies with all requirements of the AVG law, the Algemene verordening gegevensbescherming (General Data Protection Regulation), and guarantees encrypted processing of personal data.
Thank you for your cooperation.
